 Welcome to our Sparkly Stars!

Our topic is: Wild Weather!

November 2017: Year 4 will be visiting Buxton Museum & Art Gallery on Thursday 16th November. We will travel to Buxton by train and walk up to the museum to explore an exhibition by Val Hunt called, Reincarnated Rubbish – the children will sketch first hand observations and also get the opportunity to see other exhibitions too.  The exhibition aims to promote creative recycling and raise awareness of why species are disappearing at an alarming rate. Back in school we are hoping to create our very own exhibition using unwanted materials. We will then eat our packed lunch in Buxton before heading back by train to Whaley Bridge. All the details can be found in the information letter on the school website under the tab ‘letters’. Remember to bring a waterproof coat and wear school uniform!

September 2017: Where is Tornado Alley? What happens inside of a storm cloud? Where is the coldest place on Earth?

Year 4 will be finding out about the world’s weather, about hurricanes and bushfires, lightning and drought, and so much more! Year 4 will go on an extraordinary journey of discovery to find out about our weird and wonderful weather of our world.

If you have any artefacts that could be added to our topic table e.g. books,
jigsaws, dressing up clothes, bring them in – names labelled clearly please!
